Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization of Bangladesh founded in 1958; mandated to work with disadvantaged and underprivileged people including children through projects and programs. DAM has set out policy for common values, principles and beliefs tomeet our organizational commitment to protect children and work for their rights andentitlements. DAM’s mission is to provide high quality services towards unity, peace and development of social and spiritual life for the human community in general and for the disadvantaged and suffering humanity, in particular.Dhaka Ahsania Mission has Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. Over 62 years DAM has been serving the human community for improved living conditions enhancing people’s capacities to multi-dimensional field programs and inner potentials. DAM’s current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economic development sectors in Bangladesh.

Job Context:Dhaka AhsaniaMission (DAM) has been implementing a project entitled Drop-in-Centre for Street and Working Children (DiC) in Dhaka City with the financial support of Read Foundation and DAM UK. Main objective of the projecy is to build the self-esteem of street and working children, enabling them to develop as responsible citizens through the provision of drop-in centre services.

Community Mobilizer

Educational Qualification:Bachelor Degree in any discipline or equivalent.

Required Experience: At least 2 - 3 year(s) relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate community based awareness session with the community people and children.
  • Visit and conduct interpersonal communication with the community people and family.
  • Communicate with community leaders, teacher, local government representative, government officials and other CSOs.
  • Organize and conductemployers meeting, Centre Management Committee meeting at the community level.
  • Conduct regular home visit and dialogue with local authorities.
  • Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and annual report with related information and data.
  • Prepare case studies.
  • Mobilize children and their family for enrolment in DiC.
  • Ensure a healthy and safety condition for spending all activities to the children and ensure equal treatment to the beneficiaries
  • Maintain good coordination/ collaboration with other project staffs.
  • Any other relevant tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor and senior management of the DAM.

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates should have knowledge on safeguarding issues particularly on Child Protection.
  • Have strong interpersonal, communications, organizational and team building ability
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Age limit: Up to 40years.

Duty Station: DiC at Mohammadpur.

BDT 18,000 with Other benefits. (Other benefits will pay as per project provision and DAM policy.
